Lachlan purchased his generic trench watch sometime prior to October 1914, and did not personalize it until he arrived in Egypt in 1917.​​

George and Barbara Harvey did not know anything about the watch -- or how it wound up being sold by a Birmingham, England eBay seller in 2023.

Grandson George believes that the watch might have been inherited by his Uncle Martin, and sold after his death in 2001. And then it disappeared for over 20 years.....Such are the mysteries of TimeCapsule watches!
