Chikara WW2 Combat – Europe 1945

​

Chikara was stationed in Europe from March 19, 1945 to Dec 17, 1945 as a Private 1st Class with the 490th Armored Field Artillery Battalion.

His tours of duty included Austria (Altausse – April / June 1945) and Germany (Lauf, Hasfurt, Alsheim, Veilbronn), June – August 1945.

Chikara was awarded the following medals:

• Good Conduct Medal

• American Defense Service Medal

• European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal

• World War II Victory Medal 

         

Chikara returned home from Europe on Dec 19, 1945 and was discharged from the U.S. Army on Jan 20, 1946 at Camp Beale, Calif.
